…Chic Critique…

…Hello people from across the globe.  I need to apologize.  I haven’t been blogging all this rad stuff I’ve been taking pictures of.  Truth be told, it’s because I hate my blog.  It gives me the hives everytime I look at it.  So…I’ve put Jane Johnson on it.  I should have a new blog very soon.

In the meantime I am teaching 4 week critique class over on the Chic Critique Forum.  There are only 4 spots left so sign up today!

…gone…

…are the days of summer…almost anyway.  I am suddenly sad.  I had so many goals this summer.  I was going to do so many things.  I wouldn’t say that time was wasted, it just went by too quickly and we didn’t move fast enough.  There is something to be said for just rolling with the punches though.  My blog slacked, but we were outside every evening playing with the kids.  We never made it to the Zoo, but we took lots of nature walks.  We never had any big parties,  but we did get to spend some time with friends and family.  So fall, and all it’s crispy chaos…I welcome you.

Did I mention that my blog slacked??  Oh yes, just a few short sentences ago…and if I am in your Rss feed then I’m sure you have noticed, but this afternoon I am sharing.  So enjoy.

This gorgeous senior was so much fun.  We shot on her grandparents farm, and as I walked through the house, I saw some familiar faces.  Such fun!  Ellie’s mom couldn’t be there but for good cause…she was in Africa meeting her new daughter for the first time.  In just a few short months she will call the mid-west home.

Gorgeous. That baby smiling? I die.

We didn’t make it to the zoo either. Want to take the kids sometime this fall? At least we won’t be melting and stinky from the heat! ;)

…What moves you…

…what moves you…?  Inspires you…?  Makes you want to be better than you are…?  For me it is not one thing…it’s everything really.  kindness, smiles, laughter, color, light, passion, love.  They are the same to me.  No one thing can possess just one of them.  When you laugh your cheeks fill with color.   Light reflects off of the curves of a body, projecting the feeling of a moment.  Inspiration can come from anywhere…anything.  You just have to have your eyes open when it presents itself.

and to be clear, I’m not just talking about photography.  I’m talking about life too.  Be inspired; be happy with what is around you.  Find happiness and love and laughter and light where you dwell.  Make it a habit of opening your eyes to the life around you.  Beauty awaits.

The moment we stepped out of the car and I met Casey for the first time, I was totally inspired.  She has such a feminine physique.  Beautiful collar bones and slender hands and an inner beauty to match the outward one. It’s no wonder that Jason is completely smitten.  Looking so forward to their wedding in October!!  Despite the INSANE wind…I absolutely adored their session!

…winter funk…

…you know the one…

don’t want to leave the house, you forget you actually own make-up, and have a wardrobe other than your robe…

seriously…you don’t know that one?  CRAP. I guess it’s just me.

I am a mess these days.  My house is a mess.  I started going to through old contracts to make room for the new ones.  They are still on the floor at the foot of my desk.  The puppy ate a clients order and so I had to place it again.  Come to think of it, I can’t believe she hasn’t eaten any of the contracts. Oh wait I see some teeth marks.  Good thing those are old contracts. hehe  EVERYONE has been sick over here.  We were well for a couple weeks and now are passing the plague around again. nice.

Spring…get here already before I drive myself nuts!!!  It sucks being a photographer in Missouri in the winter.  Too cold to take pictures most days.

I have had some sessions though.  Check out these super cute loveys!!

I totally hear you! And I’m in Texas where my idea of too cold to leave the house is 40 degrees, so you probably don’t want to hear me whine about it:). Beautiful work as always.
