…Carrie and Eric…

…All the days of my life…

…the verse from the ceremony that resonated through the valley.  A simple phrase with such a profound meaning.  There stood a man and woman, who had greeted each other earlier under the shade of a mimosa tree and showered one another with hugs and kisses , now ready to pledge all the days of their lives to the person at their side.

This wasn’t a new concept for Carrie and Eric.  When they planned their wedding they did it as a joint effort.  Each pledging their devotion to the other through thoughtful acts.  Carrie, knowing Eric’s love for maps, had cufflinks made for him.  One with a map of the city in which they live, Atlanta; and one of the city in which they were married.  Eric designed and built the arbor under which they were to pledge their devotion, and drove it a grueling 8 hours to the site of their vows.  The also spent Saturday after Saturday perusing old book stores and library sales to find titles relevant to their wedding day, which they then used as part of their centerpieces, and then gave to the guests as parting gifts.  They both dedicated themselves to making the wedding day special…and that my friends, is truly special.

It was a magical day filled with laughter, tears, butterflies, happiness, and most of all love.  Thank you Carrie and Eric for sharing your story with me…

…changing it up…

…so if you know me, then you know that I am a creature of habit.  I find something I like and I stick to it.  For example, I ALWAYS order the Sicilian Grouper at Pasta House, the Bruschetta Chicken Sandwich at Red Robin,  I am a loyal Coke driker, I still listen to the same music I did 15 years ago…with a few added delights,  I have the same Jack Purcells in my closet that I wore my senior year in high school.

I think this stems from the fact that it takes me FOREVER to make a decision…seriously.  It always has.  So I stick to things to save myself the hassle LOL.

Well, I have been toying with the notion of getting an actual studio space for a couple years now.  It just never seemed the right time, or it wasn’t the right place…

Just so happens that I made a new friend recently.  He is an insanely talented local photog…Steve Seebeck.  And guess what…I am going to be sharing some space with him and couple other locals as well.  I am beyond excited!!!  Stella and I made the trip downtown to the studio the other day for a test shoot.  FRICKIN AMAZING natural light in that place.

Now onto my next deep thought…this young woman…

I could not figure out who it was that she looked like…I knew it was a supermodel, but could not put it together…

Well I did…she looks just like Nikki Taylor…just like her!  WOW…

blogboard1

you know who else…she looks like my dear Canadian sista Amanda…who has the most Canadian accent you can find…;)

and these two cuties???  no words…so I’ll just sigh and thank my lucky stars I got to be their photographer.

…the cake eaters…

…so have you ever seen a movie and within the first 5 minutes been completely smitten with it?  Well I was the first time I saw The Cake Eaters.  It was a very small budget film…not a lot of really well known actors(with the exception of Kristen Stuart), but it was directed by Mary Stuart Masterson who has had my heart since she played Watts in Some Kind of Wonderful.  My goodness, it was such a poignant film to me.  Perhaps since I identifyed so much with it’s characters when I was younger…

…filled with loneliness, longing, insecurity.  Gosh it’s just gut wrenching.

Looooooved it!

Almost as much as I loved this couple…seriously. adorable.  We went out to the family farm for their engagement session.

Color me pink and call me Dolly Parton…it was such super place for pictures!

I can’t wait for their wedding in February…it is going to be super cool…

Lookie…they carved their name in that tree a very long time ago…on a very cold day.

…MJC…field trip…

…everytime Denise asks me to shoot another upcoming line…my heart almosts bursts out of my chest! I genuninely adore her and the entire Matilda Jane gang…

and then an added bonus…the most amazingly cute clothes on the planet!

Of course we are always both freaking out before the shoot…

Denise is thinking…”what if no one likes my clothes”…

I am always thinking…”Man Michelle, you better not suck, cuz these are some ridiculously cute clothes”

David is calling out which ones will be the best sellers…

Lynette, Kayla, and Sam are busy organizing everything…and reassuring Denise and I…lol

and it always turns out to be the best time of my life…

The models are always just so happy when they put on these clothes…and so everything just collides into the happiest little event!

Denise worked her but off styling this shoot into the cutest thing ever…and it was!  Right down to the soda bottles.

There are so many new pieces this season!  Especially for the women…

Stella and I have discussed it and we both must have it all.  We are fashion glutens and we need therapy for it…okay so maybe just me…but she is in training…lol!

Hop on over to the Matilda Jane website and set up your trunk show today!  And then stop over at the MJC blog, cuz there is always a good read there…
