…rain for breakfast…
…Stella and Lukas are night and day in the mornings. Stella is my grumpy one and Lukas is almost too jovial. We run such a tight schedule in the mornings that I rarely get to have my coffee before taking these two on. Being that this is the most taxing period of my day…perhaps I should rethink things a little. This morning Lukas said he wanted rain for breakfast…my response was…”come November you won’t be able to take that back”. So can you guess what song has been in my head all day??
Today I’m going to share a couple recent engagement shoots. First up is Ally and Steven. We made our way around STL a couple weeks ago, soaking up the fabulous weather. I wonder what they thought of me when I told them to go chase the birds…

Then I had Carolyn and Josh…we had a rocky start. Literally one photo in we were ATTACKED BY A SWARM OF BEES!!! Yes you read that right. Josh got off with not a single bite but Carolyn and I were throbbing into the wee hours of night. Didn’t matter, we had tons of fun! Josh kept saying all these really ridiculous things and making us laugh…eh-hem…;)
see what I mean…

and yes, we went into Busch Stadium.

Matilda Jane “You and me”
…just a snippet from the Fall 2011 catalog shoot. As soon as all the line comes out I’ll share lots lots more from our adventure, but for now head on over to MJC and schedule your trunk show or drool over all the cute platinum items.
This shot makes me want to run out into a field( cuz there are not mountains in MO) and just sing…lol.

Have a great day!

…Brooke and Jered…
…engaged…
I am one lucky photographer. I get blessed with amazing couples over and over again. What is the magic factor with all these couples you ask? It is their geniune love for each other. That giggly, I want to kiss and hold hands, I can’t get enough of my fiance, I want to get married today kind of love. Brooke and Jered were no exception. Their love and genuine consideration for each other was not only obvious…it was so effortless. They are the best version of themselves when they are together…and stronger people because of it, when they are apart. Can’t wait for next June!!

Thanks so much Brooke and Jered! Adore you two!

…Casey and Lindsey…
…married…
when I awoke the morning of their wedding day, my heart sank in my chest. Not a ray of light peeked through the curtain and I had a gorgeous winery wedding on the agenda. Top that off with a forcast that said 100% chance of rain during the time of the nuptials… Boo. I was gonna need another cup of coffee.
In true Missouri weather fashion, the forcast was 100% WRONG. By afternoon it had turned into the most wonderful day…sunny, breezy, not 105.
When I first met with Lindsey she said that she and Casey didn’t want a “can wedding” (A term I have stolen and reused..;)) They had a clear vision and stuck to it. I have to say it could not have been more perfect. With the help of all the wonderful vendors, things went off without a hitch.

The letterpress invites were just breathtaking…

and the flowers by Les Bouquets…rendered me speechless. Lindsey even found shoes to match the ribbon on her bouquet. They just so happened to be the most fabulous pair of Seychelle’s ever.

then it was get married time…are these not the cutest programs you have ever seen?

then out for some pictures…Lindsey’s hair and make-up was flawlessly done by Holly Speakes.

then off to the reception…the details were perfectly arranged by Lisa Zweifel and her staff and the cakes by Whipt Cream…fantabulous!!!

the first dance and cake-cutting were followed by lots of fun…and a lot of dancing. Thank you so much to the Weis and Bayer families for being so amazing! and thank YOU for stopping by!

…gone…
…are the days of summer…almost anyway. I am suddenly sad. I had so many goals this summer. I was going to do so many things. I wouldn’t say that time was wasted, it just went by too quickly and we didn’t move fast enough. There is something to be said for just rolling with the punches though. My blog slacked, but we were outside every evening playing with the kids. We never made it to the Zoo, but we took lots of nature walks. We never had any big parties, but we did get to spend some time with friends and family. So fall, and all it’s crispy chaos…I welcome you.
Did I mention that my blog slacked?? Oh yes, just a few short sentences ago…and if I am in your Rss feed then I’m sure you have noticed, but this afternoon I am sharing. So enjoy.
This gorgeous senior was so much fun. We shot on her grandparents farm, and as I walked through the house, I saw some familiar faces. Such fun! Ellie’s mom couldn’t be there but for good cause…she was in Africa meeting her new daughter for the first time. In just a few short months she will call the mid-west home.

there were lots of other cuties recently too…baby Graham and baby Brick…

the cutest family of redheads ever.

super kids…and their sidekick sisters…

and please stay tuned…I have the most lovely wedding and engagement shoots to share!

Sometimes I wish I could go back to my senior year and re-do my senior photos because of gorgeous photos like this! ( Aug 15th, 2011 11:19 pm)Wow! What amazing photos! Gorgeous as always! Glad to see you posting again, you have been missed. Gorgeous. That baby smiling? I die. We didn’t make it to the zoo either. Want to take the kids sometime this fall? At least we won’t be melting and stinky from the heat! I love your work so much! Seriously.. can I be you when I grow up?! Such stunning images! ( Aug 12th, 2011 5:43 pm) |
