…Aaron and Meredith…

…married…

…sometimes as a wedding day progresses I find that a particular song will begin repeating over and over in my head and consequently over and over on my ipod. This day the Cars were rockin’ out in my head with the day’s theme song “Magic”. Cuz “uh oh” it was “Magic”.

Aaron and Meredith traveled all the way from NYC to celebrate their wedding day close to family here in the Lou, and I have to say it was a very rocky welcome. Old man rain would NOT go away. Rain, rain, rain…

…but like “Magic”…5 minutes before we started pics, the clouds parted, the rain ceased, and we did celebratory dances. It could not have been more lovely out.

on to the really good stuff…I adored their invites.  I love how they incorporated hearts and records into the decor.

 Swoon….her shoes!  I almost died!

and then I saw her Ivy and Aster gown and my heart really did stop beating…

the boutineers and bouquets by Les Bouquets were amazing!

off for pictures…

the ladies and gents were gorgeous…

proof that girls are better listeners than boys…;)

I seriously couldn’t get enough of her dress…the neckline…the back…sigh.

Time to get married…

The reception was so beautiful…loved the guest signing poster.  What a great art piece for their home!

Congrats you two!  XOXO

…a Chicago engagement…

…meet Amy and Robert…they’re getting married in June in beautiful Punta Cana, and I am the lucky gal who gets to document it.  Turns out they live in Chi-town and while I was there a few weeks ago we squeezed in their engagement session.  It was supposed to be sunny and 60…

…nope…it was 39 and overcast.  I was not prepared.  I froze.  At least they got to snuggle…;)  To say they are adorable and wonderful is a total understatement.  They were literally killing me everytime they flashed those incredile dimples my way.  Can you imagine how cute their kids are going to be?

See you again in a couple months!

Those are amazing. I’ve always wanted dimples. Thin I could find a stellar plastic surgeon to hook me up? ;)

…Ideas…

…I do some of my best thinking in those moments after I’ve closed my eyes but haven’t yet fallen asleep.  My mind wanders aimlessly about without the confines that my eyes bring forth, and conjurs up some of the best solutions for all kinds of issues.  The problem is when I wake up I can’t seem to find those thoughts again. I can say that I do remember one from a long long while ago, and it hasn’t left my mind since.

My thoughts on Satisfaction.  It seems that we as humans are so driven by personal satisfaction.  We have to be satisfied and appeased at every turn.  If our food doesn’t taste right we demand a remake, if we aren’t greeted within moments of entering an establishement we are put out, if we have to WAIT on anything it should equal a discount.  Where do we get such a heightened scense of entitlement?  Don’t YOU know that this need for convenience will surely lead to our demise.  I do.

I think we should forge our way in terms of survival, if you will.  Enjoy life, but not at the expense of others.  Let Happiness be your motivator, not satisfaction.  There is a difference.

Care enough to be inconvenienced:

leave the trash in your car until you find a recyle bin.

car pool with someone at your work.  yes, you may have to adjust your schedule.

pack your child’s lunch with fresh items in reusable containers. ( I get ill thinking of all the trash we create from our convenient little prepackaged snacks, not to mention the unhealthy ingredients may of those contain)

make sure all the lights are off when they aren’t being used.

walk or ride a bike when you can.

have your kids ride the bus.  Why drive them when you have public transportation? Save that fuel and preserve the air we breathe.

For photographers, place your orders once a week, think of all the fuel and exhaust you can cut back on.

Gosh, there are so many things we CAN do.  We are supposed to be the smartest inhabitants on the planet, but we abuse it more than any other.  YOU have to CARE enough to make a difference.  YOU will be inconvenienced.  YOU will not like it most of the time.  YOU will survive.

My mind goes to that movie American Beauty.  I remember it had such a powerful message to me.  There is more to life than being satsified.  Life is worth the  inconvenience.  You never know when yours will be over.  Live it.  Live it so that others will be able to go on when yours is over.

I’m taking the vow to be Inconvenienced.  Will you take it with me? I implore you to pin this, put it on a t-shirt. Say it. Talk about it.BE IT.

Come on people, we can be better.

I won’t apologize for the heaviness of this blog post, but I will show you some very light-hearted happy photographs!

I started a facebook page if anyone wants to join.  I figured we could all share the things we do to be inconvenienced, to serve as inspiration/ideas for others.

You know I am a big hippie tree-hugger so I love this.

Also. Are my kids the only ones who aren’t all smiles when you bust out your camera? No. Fair.

…Happy Birthday Sweet Stella…

…6 years ago today the sweetest little lady came into my life.  She entered this world wide eyed and without a sound.

Unafraid. All knowing. Beautiful.

She hasn’t changed a bit.

…well maybe a little…

I love you sweet girl. May we celebrate a lifetime of birthdays together.
